FROM THE RANCH TO YOUR TABLE
colorado river ranch
Colorado River Ranch sits on 1,040 acres of fertile lands at the confluence of the Colorado and Eagle Rivers. The welfare of cattle, horses, poultry and pork are held to rigorous standards that include ample space to roam and graze; access to clean water and air; expressing natural behaviors; and safe, healthy, productive feed. Since 2020, Colorado River Ranch has specialized in wagyu genetics, raising herd sires from top Japanese wagyu genetics and producing the best full-blood wagyu cattle herd in the U.S.
COLORADO CANYON FEEDERS
Colorado Canyon Feeders is a feed yard sitting on 154 acres of productive farmland in the Uncompahgre River Valley. The Wagyu cattle from Colorado River Ranch and Angus cattle from Colorado Canyon Ranch are eventually moved to the feedlot, continuing the entire ranch-to-table operation.
KINIKIN CRAFT BUTCHERS
Once the meat from Colorado River Ranch has made its way to our shop in Montrose, Colo., customers can be confident that they’re getting the best cut of every piece of meat we process. We prioritize ethics and sustainability, providing visibility of our animal’s entire lifecycle. It is this commitment to our product that gave us the opportunity to move from our first space to a state-of-the-art facility, a USDA-inspected and certified meat processing building off of San Juan Bypass and Highway 50.

YOUR PLATE
Knowing where your food comes from gives you a deeper appreciation for it. From the ranch to your plate, you can be confident your home-cooked meal is safe, healthy, antibiotic and hormone-free – and that nothing has ever tasted better.
The benefits of knowing exactly where your food comes from.
Fewer chemicals and antibiotics
You get to choose products that are produced with higher standards of health. Meat from reputable farms or butchers is less likely to contain harmful chemicals, additives, or contaminants like antibiotics and hormones.Ethical and humane animal treatment
You can make more informed choices about the ethical treatment of animals. Many small-scale or pasture-based farms prioritize humane practices and allow animals to live in better conditions than those in large factory farms.Reduced environmental impact
Local ranches and farms use fewer resources, such as water and feed, and have smaller carbon footprints compared to large industrial operations or factory farms.Better quality and flavor
Meat from well-raised animals that have had access to natural diets and environments tastes better. The end product is fresher compared to mass-produced meat.Food security
Knowing where your meat comes from and supporting local producers can help increase food security, especially in times of crisis or supply chain disruptions. Local farms are less dependent on global trade networks and can be more adaptable to local needs.Support local communities
Support small farmers and ranchers who engage in more environmentally friendly practices, like rotational grazing, which helps improve soil health and biodiversity.Change the farm factory landscape
As you and other meat eaters become more informed, a ripple effect demands more humane and sustainable meat production. This can influence larger companies to adopt better practices as they strive to meet consumer expectations.HANDMADE, HOME-COOKED MEALS
